Conversation Performance
What is the significance, what are the chances of a political intervention emanating from art? What can we learn from past, existing and newly founded parties? From the party DIE GRÜNEN co-founded by Joseph Beuys or Christoph Schlingensief's CHANCE 2000, from the Pirates, the Bergpartei, or the hip hop party founded in 2017, Die Urbane?
In performances and parliaments, the possibilities and realities of parties and party formations, of referendums, citizens' initiatives and direct co-determination were discussed in the run-up to the 2021 federal elections. How much potential, so the question goes, is there in the idea of a »Sculptural Democracy« designed by Beuys?
Participants included Raphael Moussa Hillebrand, Fabian »SirQlate« Blume and Yvonne (Ocran) Müller from Die Urbane. Eine HipHop Partei (Antikolonial & Machtkritisch), the co-founder of the Green Party Lukas Beckmann, the artist Johannes Stüttgen, the chairperson of Mehr Demokratie e.V. Claudine Nierth and the founder of the Bergpartei Jan Theiler alias Pastor Leumund.
